Haley Grigsby, Fisher’s Marketing Director, is a prime example of successful and driven! Just for the record, she did not post this blog. Haley has been with Fisher’s for 6-years and part of the company’s leadership team for 4-years. Haley leads the marketing team that’s focused on internal and external communications for Fisher’s in the Idaho and Montana communities. What is the first thing you do in the morning?
What everyone does when they first wake up in the morning :), while checking my email and calendar.
Describe your day-to-day work day?
My day-to day work day is pretty much coffee, emails, meetings, checking in on the multiple projects, putting out fires, lots of problem solving, creative sessions, making sure we’re on budget, person wrangler, hustling and then ends with wine.
What is your biggest challenge?
My biggest weakness is definitely being a control freak.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
At my job, I enjoy the challenge of bringing an idea to life and seeing it all come together.
What is a failure/mistake that you learned from?
The biggest mistakes I’ve learned from would be brushing issues under the rug. Sometimes employees, co-workers, family, friends, etc. need to hear constructive feedback to grow both personally and/or professionally.
When did you consider yourself a success?
I’m never satisfied and highly competitive so it’s hard to consider myself successful. This would imply that I’ve hit a ceiling and I enjoy pushing myself past my limits, so I guess I’ll consider myself successful when I’m dead.
How do you push through your worst times?
I’ve always leaned on working hard and not dwelling on my situation when times get tough. My moto: There is always a solution to every problem, you just haven’t figured it out yet.
What keeps you awake at night?
What keeps me up at night – dosing off and waking up suddenly because I remembered something I forgot to do.
What are your successful habits?
I would say my successful habits are working hard, being positive, caring about others, surrounding myself with smart people, and always learning.
What is your biggest weakness?
I have lots of weaknesses, but my biggest is probably Taco Bell or taking things personally.
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being low and 10 high), how weird are you?
How would you describe yourself in 1-word?
If I had to describe myself in one word it would be, “feisty”.
What is your favorite TV show?
I have lots of favorite TV shows, but if I had to narrow it down to a few it would include: Game of Thrones, The Office, Parks & Recreation, Criminal Minds, and Girls.
